Exclusive PPE workshop by Peter Singer

A PPE-students-only-workshop of a world class philosopher at the John Stuart Mill College? (!!!) … Check!

Next week Peter Singer will visit the Joh Stuart Mill College. Singer is an Australian philosopher who specialized in Ethics. He is a professor at Princeton University and a Laureate Professor at the University of Melbourne. Singer’s ‘utilitarianism’ has had profound influence on scholars, politicians, policymakers, and so fort. Our students (and many many others across the world) read his books and articles during their Ethics course in semester 1. And now the lucky PPEs have the once in a lifetime opportunity to ask him everything about everything in a workshop organized exclusively for the PPEs that will take place Monday 29th of May at the John Stuart Mill College. Woohaa!

(NB: the workshop is notΒ open for non-PPEs (no exceptions), but those of you that are admitted for the PPE-programme 2017-2018 and would like to join, please send an e-mail to

Not a PPE- student (yet) but still want to hear and see Peter Singer? Room for Discussion organised a public event later that day that is open to all. This will not be a workshop but a lecture about his new book: Ethics for one world. Not quite the same as an exclusive workshop but still highly recommended for non- PPEs.
