ZuidAs Masterclass 2016 by Philip Pettit on freedom & the state

On May 11th the first ZuidAs Masterclass took place at VU Amsterdam. At the ZuidAs Masterclass a distinguished political philosopher discusses his work with students. Philip Pettit (Princeton and ANU) talked about freedom and the state with students. Philip Pettit is one of the most prominent political philosophers of our times and is the author of many books, including Republicanism: A Theory of Freedom and Government, The Economy of Esteem (with Geoffrey Brennan) and Just Freedom: A Moral Compass for a Complex World. The annual event is an initiative of the Amsterdam Centre for Political Thought.
